As you follow this blog, I pray you will also actively participate in allowing the Holy Spirit to renovate the places in your heart where you have allowed other "stuff" to crowd out and dim your focus on Jesus Christ, and Him alone. To fully absorb what God may be speaking into your heart I encourage you to have the following items on hand:
A Bible -- The New International Version (NIV), Contemporary English Version (CEV), New Living Translation (NLT), New American Standard Bible (NASB) are all excellent choices. In the study you will also find many quotes from The Message Bible.
The Message is a contemporary paraphrase, which sometimes paints some perfect word pictures to grasp the meaning as we relate it to our lives! I, personally find this to be an excellent resource along with an actual translation version like the ones listed above.
Following us on Kindle? You'll be able to download your Bible right there if you choose.
A Journal -- Keeping a small notebook or a word file on your computer would be perfect for this. If you are following this on Kindle, I believe you'll also be able to add your notes and thoughts right there on the Kindle page. How cool is that!?!
Highlighters, colored pencils, and a pen -- While these are certainly not necessary items, I find them very helpful in marking verses and making notes in my Bible of things I find especially speaking to my heat. These items may also be very helpful with the God-Color Moments.
To participate in the God-Color Moments to their fullest may also require some common things you will have around the house. Please check out our page on God-Color Moments to learn just a little more about the tools provided to encourage you in your relationship with Jesus to find a new or deeper level of intimacy.
Within the posts you may find suggestions to look for a music video on YouTube. While Blogger easily supports the interface with YouTube, there are those who are following us on Kindle. Amazon asks that since the Kindle does not support video, that these not be included in the posts. I believe it will be well worth your time to seek out these additional inspirations!

"Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill." ~~Matthew 5:14, The Message
When Isaiah saw the LORD high and lifted up and the train of his robe filling the temple he saw his brokenness. Isaiah was a man of unclean lips and lived among a people of unclean lips. He also experienced God's tender mercy, and he was a changed man. When God asked, "Who will go for us?", Isaiah answered, "Here I am, send me?"
Allow yourself to glimpse the Glory of the Lord, come to a deep realization of your own brokenness, and encounter God's amazing grace and mercy. For Isaiah it was crude language holding him back from being all God had for him to be.
I was battling some very unhealthy beliefs about food because of childhood trauma. For you it may be shopping, smoking, facebook, electronic connectivity of all kinds, career, uncontrolled anger, unhealthy relationships -- you fill in the blank. It's whatever is blocking the position reserved for Jesus on the throne of your heart. God eagerly awaits your invitation for Him to renovate your heart as He did Isaiah's. When you aknowledge your brokenness and receive the tender mercies of God, like Isaiah you will find the Light of Jesus shining more brightly through you like a city on a hill drawing others to Him.
