God-Color Moments -- Choosing the Creator's Palette
There are many things (sin/idols) in our lives that we allow to take up residence on the throne in our heart intended for King Jesus alone. As we choose more of Him and less of the other stuff we may find ourselves traveling on the guilt train. God showed me clearly trips on the guilt train were not going to get the job done. The Holy Spirit confirmed to my spirit what I already knew in my mind. My journey through challenges in my own life was to become the Bible study you hold in your hands (or view from your computer). He further showed me that it needed to be one that allowed each of us to come face to face with the idols of our hearts, but also one that gives us hope, joy and encouragement that leads ut to the victory that is only possible through the resurrection power of Jesus Christ.
Toward that goal, God-Color Moments, appear throughout. My prayer is that you will complete each of them, and they will become a treasury of the most precious Truths of God's faithfulness and mercy in your lives. A few ofthese will ask you and God to do business on the serious issues of the sin/idol in your life that is holding you back today. Please realize that even those are priceless treasures. Recognition of misdirected focus in our lives is the beginning of a freedom to allow God to transform that area of your life for His ultimate God-colored glory!
A basket held the baby Moses, who would be God's treasure to deliver the people of Israel from slaery and into the promised land. A most ornate box created by God's specific direction, the Ark of the Covenant, safely kept the tablets ofstone on which God's Hand had carved the Ten Commandments. An alabaster flask held the precious anointing oil Mary poured on Jesus head. A rock cave was the treasure chest that held the body of Christ so securely that only the power of God could have orchestrated the Easter Victory.
A fancy jewelry box, a basket, a shoe box, a velvet pouch, a colorful gift bag -- whatever you choose, create a treasure chest to collect your God-Color Moments. Whatever challenges you face in days beyond this Bible study, you will have a Treasury of Truth that testifies to the power of God in Christ Jesus to bring victory out of every situation. We won't choose to lolligag here. We will move forward on our journey and into the plans of God for our lives, but with the ability to remember His incredible lovingkindness that continues to paint His God colors on our lives.
These God-Color Moments are just so very special! I will be forever thankful to my dear friend, Robin Mokry, whose creativity and imagination had much to do with the development of this part of the study. She's one of those who prefers to assist quietly, and what an incredible help she was! Thank you, Robin, for reflecting His colors in your life, and for allowing them to shine from your life to mine. :o)

"Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill." ~~Matthew 5:14, The Message
When Isaiah saw the LORD high and lifted up and the train of his robe filling the temple he saw his brokenness. Isaiah was a man of unclean lips and lived among a people of unclean lips. He also experienced God's tender mercy, and he was a changed man. When God asked, "Who will go for us?", Isaiah answered, "Here I am, send me?"
Allow yourself to glimpse the Glory of the Lord, come to a deep realization of your own brokenness, and encounter God's amazing grace and mercy. For Isaiah it was crude language holding him back from being all God had for him to be.
I was battling some very unhealthy beliefs about food because of childhood trauma. For you it may be shopping, smoking, facebook, electronic connectivity of all kinds, career, uncontrolled anger, unhealthy relationships -- you fill in the blank. It's whatever is blocking the position reserved for Jesus on the throne of your heart. God eagerly awaits your invitation for Him to renovate your heart as He did Isaiah's. When you aknowledge your brokenness and receive the tender mercies of God, like Isaiah you will find the Light of Jesus shining more brightly through you like a city on a hill drawing others to Him.
